About 3rd Skipton Scouts

Our Story
3rd Skipton Scout Group proudly relaunched in 2021, emerging from the pandemic with just 4 Cubs and an enthusiastic spirit. Today, we are thriving with four vibrant sections: Squirrels (ages 4–6), Beavers (ages 6–8), Cubs (ages 8–10.5), and Scouts (ages 10.5–14).
Our leadership team is mostly new to Scouting, bringing fresh ideas, energy, and dedication. Except for one, every Leader started with us in the last few years, joining a team focused on creating meaningful, fun, and memorable experiences for every young person in our care.
Alongside classic Scouting activities like camping, hiking, and fundraising, we are committed to making a positive impact in our community. We take part in events such as Skipton Gala, Sheep Day, the Santa Fun Run, Grassington Christmas Markets, and Pride in the Dales. We help care for the Broughton Road community allotment, organize the annual District Carol Service at Holy Trinity Church, and participate in both the Remembrance Parade and St George’s Day Parade, which we are proud to help arrange in turn. Our Scouts also compete in the District Swimming Gala and Football Tournament.
Whenever possible, we give our members the chance to participate in District and County events, including the County Jamboree (Larkin) and Junior Warrior—often at a special discounted rate for our group. At 3rd Skipton, our mission is simple: to give young people skills for life and unforgettable adventures, all while supporting our local community.
